As the name suggest, the dancer is ‘free’ to explore and master the various different dance ‘styles’ that are present today. The more common dance forms that are covered in this class are MTV style dancing, hip hop, contemporary, cabaret, Cuban etc. The only dance forms that Freestyle does not cover are traditional or cultural dances which are recognized as a specialty field of their own.
The student is given a very strong base of general dance techniques that will aid them in posture, balance, poise, grace and strength. This is then followed with the slow but exciting exploration of the various other techniques required for all the different dance styles.
This class is an excellent foundation for all dance forms and provides students with an excellent platform to move on to a specialty field, competitions or to become a professional dancer.

CAPOEIRA
Ages: 15 and above
Experience: Not Required
Attire: Anything you are comfortable sweating in
Duration: 1hour/Weekly
Our Purple Rates: RM 90
Class Format:Capoiera (kah-PWEH-dah) may simply look like a kind of 'mock fight' or dance circle. Surrounded by a bateria (musician) in a circle called the roda, or 'wheel', two capoeiristas (or 'players') move around each other using arching kicks, stealthy dodges, crouching movements, cartwheels, teasing gestures, sneak attacks, headbutts, and the occasional acrobatic leap.
Capoeira, unlike most other martial arts, can be more accurately described as a game than a fighting style. The jogo (capoeira game) is played by two capoeira practitioners (capoeiristas) at a time, inside a ring of people called the Roda, which is made up of other capoeiristas or onlookers. The capoeiristas engage in a series of attack and counter attack movements made up of mostly kicks, at times coming within inches of each other.
