Cleaning your Prana Nail Mat:
Remove the foam and hand wash the mat using detergent in luke warm water. Allow to hang and drip dry. Do not machine wash or dry clean. Never tumble dry.
How to use the Prana Nail Mat
Carefully lie down on your Prana Mat. Distribute your weight evenly over the contact points. For the first few minutes, you will likely experience discomfort; this will subside. Breathe deeply and remain still.
Certain conditions can make our skin more sensitive. The Prana Mat should not feel painful. If it does hurt, place a thin sheet between your body and the mat. After a period of time, try using the Prana Mat without a protective layer.
We recommend about 10 minutes of use. You'll recognize the Prana Mat’s effects right away, but they may develop once you start using the mat more frequently. Some people fall asleep on the mat. Others get an energy boost immediately after use.
We recommend about 20 minutes of use, preferably at bedtime. If you fall asleep, that’s okay. Avoid watching the clock (set an alarm if you must). The most important thing is to relax. It doesn’t matter if your total time on the mat is more than 20 minutes. Remove the mat when you wake up and go back to sleep. Eventually, you’ll feel that you awake more refreshed and energized for the day ahead.
After 14 days
By this time, you will have learned a lot about the Prana Mat and its effects on your body/mind. Try 20-40 minutes, or more. You can lie on the mat as long as you like. We suggest using the mat daily, although some people use it less often or after work out/sport activities
The Prana Nail Mat can be used basically over the entire body. From the spine, nerves radiate out and reach all parts of the body, which means that a back treatment can affect the entire body.
Lay down comfortably making sure that your whole back, particularly your lower back, touches the mat. Bend your knees and place your feet flat on the ground. Try to relax and breathe deeply.
Result: The exercise stimulates the acupressure and nerve points located around the vertebrae and helps in many back ailments.
Neck: Place a neck pillow or rolled-up towel under your Shakti Mat so that it gives adequate support to the back of your neck and all the way to the base of the skull. This position is very good for relieving tension in the shoulders and, in particular, for relaxing the trapezoid muscles that run all the way up to the base of the neck.
Place the Prana Nail Mat under your buttocks. You can perform the exercise in thin cotton pants until your skin adapts to the exercise.
Result: You will release tension in the lower back section and buttocks which will provide stability and energy. This is the perfect exercise for people suffering from sciatica.
Jaw / nape
Delicately place your cheek on the Prana Nail Mat. Since the skin on the face is delicate, begin by using a thin cloth.
Result: Tension is released in the jaw and nape of the neck and the face gains a healthy glow. This exercise helps when there is tension in the face and grinding of teeth.
This position works on the reflexology zones which will in turn have an overall effect on the entire body. Using the Shakti Mat on the soles of the feet enhances stability.Stand barefoot on the Prana Nail Mat. Beginners may use thin socks.
Result: Prana Nail Mat stimulates impulse zones that affect the whole body.
Lay on your stomach with your hands placed alongside your body or underneath your head. Women may place a towel under the chest to reduce the pressure.
Careful! Please observe that this can be a very intense and powerful position. Y ou should be accustomed to doing the back treatment first.
Result: This exercise helps release tension in the diaphragm and increases metabolism. This position reduces stress and improves respiration.
What happens to the body when the mat is used?

Does using Prana Nail Mat affect the skin?
After several minutes of lying on the mat small pits are formed on the skin that disappear within a few hours or after a few days in rare cases. Visible reddening is a result of the increased blood supply that on the other hand is a positive effect of calibrated Prana Nail Mat spikes.
Can children use the mat?
Of course children will feel the same positive effects of the mat as adults and they can use it before going to bed in order to relax. As the children’s skin is very sensitive it is recommended to place e.g. a thin cotton blanket or any other material before use.

For how long and how often can I lie on the Prana Nail Mat?
We suggest that you start with 15 minutes. When you get more accustomed to the Prana Nail Mat 20-40 minutes per session may be more suitable. However, it is not dangerous to exceed the time given here. We recommend regular, if possible daily use. Listen to your body for your individual time.
Can the Prana Nail Mat be washed ?
Yes, when needed you can handwash the mat using detergent in luke-warm water. Allow to hang and drip dry. Never was your Prana Nail Mat in the washing machine or with other items. Never tumble dry.
Is the Prana Nail Mat only to be used on the back ?
Nerves branch out from the back to the rest of the body, which means that a back treatment effects the whole body. However, the mat can beused on specific ‘problem areas’ of the body.
Can people with acne or scars on the back use the mat?
Yes, they can. The fact that a person has acne or scars on their body does not mean that they cannot use Prana Nail Mat. However, if open acne wounds or unhealed scars are present we do not recommend using the mat as it can exacerbate the condition. Apart from that there are no contraindications.
Can I use the Prana Nail Matif I have a skin disease; ?
We urge anyone with skin problems or a skin diseases to consult their physician before using the Prana Nail Mat as it is hard to give any type of general advice and some people might benefit from usage and others not. The points may feel irritating to sensitive or inflamed skin. You may ease the sensation by placing a thin cloth between your skin and the Prana Nail Mat. You should of course stop the treatment if you feel you are getting worse.
Can overweight people use Prana Nail Mat?
Yes, there are no contraindications. However, using Prana Nail Mat should not be very painful, sessions should be pleasant although some pain may be felt. It is the pain signals sent to the brain that cause the release of hormones of “happiness.” While using Prana Nail Mat it is possible to adjust how the spikes are pointed by using a thin T-shirt or a sheet between the body and the mat.
Is it dangerous to use the mat longer than 40 minutes?
No, it is not. The only risk is associated with more pronounced marks on the back which; however, will disappear with time. We do not recommend lying on the mat for longer than two hours a day; nonetheless, if it happens you should not be worried. Many people fall asleep on the mat.
Can Prana Nail Mat be used during a cold?
Certainly it can be used!! Prana Nail Mat acts in order to reduce the stress level, resulting in acceleration of infection so as the body immune system could fight it. (The same happens when you are sick during holiday as then the body is able to regenerate itself.) Cold is rarely held off, the infection should be left to develop, and the body should recover in its own way.
Can the mat be used by people with a present or past heart disease?
If you have problems with your heart you should use the mat carefully; lie on the mat for several minutes and see what duration of sessions is appropriate for you. People with low blood pressure are an exception. The mat may additionally lower the pressure which may result in fainting after returning to a standing position. People who have recently had a heart attack should also be careful. You should always consult a doctor if you have the slightest doubts.
Can people with heart problems use the Prana Nail Mat?
We do not recommend the usage to this particular group of people. Always consult your physician if you have a heart related disease, before using the Prana Nail Mat.
Can the mat be used in rheumatoid conditions?
Certainly it can be used. People with rheumatism claim that Prana Nail Mat has extremely positive effects on them.

Is it good for pregnant women to use the Prana Nail Mat?
